Community
Keep it useful, honest, and safe.
These guidelines cover how Kidcation tips work and the rules that keep them practical for travelling families — and they support our notice-and-action moderation process.
Write from real experience
Share what your family actually experienced at a specific place.
Do not post fake tips, paid praise, competitor attacks, spam, or copied content.
What counts as a good tip
A tip should be practical, place-specific, and based on your own family experience.
Useful tips mention concrete details: crib quality, pool depth, noise at night, stroller access, kids meals, medical help, or what surprised you.
How we verify contributors
Publishing requires a confirmed email. We show a verified-contributor label when the contributor has linked and confirmed an identity.
If you set a display name in your profile, a shortened form of it (first name and last initial) appears publicly next to your published tips. We never show your email address.
We do not claim every stay is independently audited. Verification is about contributor identity and moderation signals, not a hotel certification.
No star averages
Kidcation does not average families into a score. Different families need different things.
Instead, we show family-fit details and corroboration: how many families reported something, how recent it is, and how much of the place profile is covered.
Negative tips stay visible
Honest negative tips are useful — knowing what didn't work helps other families plan.
If content is removed, it is because moderation found a rule or legal problem, not because a place disliked the feedback.
Protect children and private people
Do not include personal contact details, room numbers, or information that identifies another family without consent.
Keep tips about the place and the stay, not about private individuals.
Stay respectful and relevant
No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, illegal content, or off-topic arguments.
Clear warnings are welcome. Abuse is not.
Reporting and moderation
Anyone can report a tip. Reports are reviewed by a moderator and do not automatically hide content.
When we remove or downrank content, we keep a statement of reasons so the decision can be explained and contested.
